After my previous dog (Cookie) died a couple years ago, I’ve been seriously missing having a dog in my life. But today my family dropped by my dorm and surprise introduced me to the newest member of our family: Rocky!

He is a 13 year-old shih tzu-poodle mix, he’s adorable and sweet and amazing, and I love him :)

I can’t wait to visit him again!

I wanted to get a dog for my dad after Cooper died, but it’s so risky springing a surprise like that on him. He’s ambivalent because of the fear of loss again. Loss is very much on his mind since Mom’s death. I’d like him to give us the explicit green light to find a dog, but it turns out the shelters are currently making it as hard as possible to meet and adopt.

Thanks, although Rocky is our new dog. Cookie is the one who died a couple years ago. Hope you’re able to adopt a dog soon.

At first I thought your dog was like my sister’s bf’s dorkie (dachsund/yorkie) Sebastian, who is not an old dog but looks like an old dog. Except your dog is actually old. Which is great.

Sister’s bf’s dog had an instagram made on its behalf by the original owners before he was re-homed to sister’s bf’s around 2-3 years old, a nd of course bf and sister took over ownership of said ig and are prolific. This pic was from around that time. He already had old dog face.
